The platinum rhodium 10-platinum thermocouple (S-type thermocouple) is a precious metal thermocouple. The diameter of the couple wire is specified as 0.5mm, and the allowable deviation is -0.015mm. The nominal chemical composition of the positive electrode (SP) is platinum-rhodium alloy, which contains 10% rhodium, 90% platinum, and the negative electrode (SN) is pure platinum. Commonly known as single platinum rhodium thermocouple. The thermocouple has a high long-term use temperature of 1300°C, and a short-term high use temperature of 1600°C. The platinum-rhodium coupler in the thermocouple series has the advantages of high accuracy, good stability, wide temperature measurement range, and long service life. It has good physical and chemical properties, thermoelectric potential stability and good oxidation resistance at high temperatures, and is suitable for oxidizing and inert atmospheres. Its index number is S index number. It mainly measures the temperature of the medium from 0 to 1600°C. It is a category of precious metal thermocouples. Normally used in high temperature applications such as coking plants and steel plants. The measurement accuracy of the rhodium coupler is very high when the normal long-term use temperature is about 800~1300℃, while the temperature measurement accuracy within 800℃ is not high, and the long-term use temperature above 1300℃ will easily damage the thermocouple. Therefore, choosing the thermocouple with the correct graduation number is an important factor to ensure the accuracy of temperature measurement.
