Bimetallic thermometer should be choose SS304 or material SS316?

For the material of common bimetallic thermometer, we usually choose stainless steel, namely SS304 and SS316 two specifications. So we should choose SS304 or SS316? To understand this problem, we must first understand the difference between the two? Actually, SS316 and SS304 on the chemical composition of the main difference is SS316 containing molybdenum ( Mo） , and generally recognized, SS316 has better corrosion resistance, than SS304 more resistant to corrosion under high temperature environment. So under the environment of high temperature, generally choose SS316 material components. But nothing's absolutely, if it is under the environment of sulfuric acid, high temperature nor use SS316 again! Because the SS316 material will have a chemical reaction and sulfur. So, how should choose SS316 or SS304, mainly depends on the environment temperature, the use of the bimetallic thermometer and whether the measured medium containing sulfuric acid.
