When used in a vacuum environment, Type B provides very good stability. The three models are not suitable for use in reducing gases or environments containing metal or non-metal vapors, unless non-metal protective sleeves are used. One more thing to keep in mind is: never insert the thermocouple directly into the metal protective sleeve.
